zen dunks, yo

Some helpful zen sayings.

If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your own path.
Do not speak - unless it improves on silence.
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.

A less than helpful zen saying.

If you understand, things are just as they are; if you do not understand, things are just as they are.

An even less helpful zen saying (found here... Number 34)

slow beer is good beer

Takeaway draught beer can only be a good thing. I can't believe it't taken so long for this to be picked up in a beer obsessed culture.
That said... We really don't care about beer the way we seem to worry about coffee, do we? Hmmmmm...

Plenty of bottle ... Slowbeer’s Chris Menichelli with a growler.

raphael recht exhibition: show me the way to go home

If you find yourself on the north side of Melbourne any time soon, check out a photography exhibition at a cool little joint called Provenance Food & Wine - 288 Smith St, Collingwood
They stock some amazing local beers and the photos ain't bad either.

I shot a few photos of the man himself at the launch event tonight.

Honestly, if you haven't seen this show you are missing out.
If you've seen it and didn't find it amusing then you should bash your funnybone against the table right now to make sure you still have one.

Five stars.

Pomparkour: Kiwi Ladder Radness

Just in case you're not familiar with the sport of Parkour... Google it and come back. There just isn't time to explain how awesome it is - Look up a dude named Damien Walters.

Anyway, apparently NZ has given birth to the new sport of Pomparkour and it's bringing the humble ladder to the world of jumping and running up stuff in a way Jackie Chan can barely acknowledge from his gold plated wheel chair. (that's much funnier if you've seen the out takes of him not quite making through the rungs of a ladder from Rush Hour 15 or whatever it was)

Ladder Sport

Check out this new ad campaign by V Energy Drink featuring a bunch of young kiwi "Pomparkourists" supported by V IsoKinetic drink.
Besides a few usability issues on the flash video files, they have absolutely nailed one of the toughest demographics to sell to IMHO
